“Anna is very nice.” Averbukh – about a frank number with the participation of Shcherbakova

2022 Olympic figure skating champion Anna Shcherbakova organically resembles in a frank number the song Be Italian during a summer show. Such an opinion in a conversation with was expressed by the silver medalist of the Olympics in ice dancing, choreographer and producer Ilya Averbukh .

As part of the Averbukh show, the 18-year-old skater participates in a candid group act with other famous skaters.

– Anna said that it was still difficult for her to perform every day on the show, because she had never had such an experience before. How is she doing as the main star?

– She performs brilliantly, in every show she does a lot of triple jumps, she appears both solo and in droves. It seems to me that with each show she reveals herself even more, finds herself, so I have no questions. The audience still brilliantly accepts Anna and gives her a standing ovation.

– Please explain from a professional point of view, what is the complexity of the show compared to the departures?

— Rather, it is not a difficulty, but a different approach. Shows are happening every day, which is exactly what Anna pointed out. Every day you have to log in before going to see the public, and there are only 5 to 6 competitions per season. But, of course, in terms of drama, in terms of the psychological mood of the competition, it’s much more difficult. Therefore, I would never equate shows and competitions, they are different tasks. But in the show, Anna gives the best of herself in terms of emotionality.

– The Be Italian composition number is quite straightforward, and if other skaters feel confident, then for Anna it’s obviously a new experience. How did she react when she found out she would have a similar image?

– With joy. Anna behaves very delicately in this number, she likes to perform under this composition with other girls. After all, the whole number is based on the fact that each girl has her own character and feels in this world in her own way. It’s good to watch all of them. Such a championship number, when Anya Shcherbakova, Oksana Domnina, Evgenia Medvedeva, Maria Petrova, Albena Denkova, Alexander Stepanova appear on the ice at the same time. This has not happened before.

How do you rate Anna’s work in this issue? Can she face it?

– Sure. The work is brilliant. In general, Anya recently gave an interesting interview, where she again turned out to be a free, very erudite and open person. There was a very interesting conversation and I recommend everyone to listen to this interview in order to feel and understand even more what Anya Shcherbakova is.
