As learned, the neutral status of Russian cyclists Fedor Dayasov and Boris Ponomarev was revoked because they had completed competition training.
Earlier, the International Cycling Union (UCI) announced the withdrawal of the neutral status of Dayasov and Ponomarev.
“Ponomarev and Dayasov have completed competitive training, so the neutral status has been revoked,” a source close to the matter told .
Dayasov, 29, received neutral status in August 2023, and Ponomarev, 29, who competes in BMX races, received it in September.
To participate in the biggest competitions of the UCI World Cup, Russian athletes must obtain neutral status. Currently, 46 Russians have neutral status.
