Russian cyclist BORA‑Hansgrohe Alexander Vlasov has applied for neutrality status with the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI).
Vlasov needs this status if he wants to participate in the Olympic Games, World or European Championships. He did not need neutral status to compete as a neutral for BORA-Hansgrohe.
“I submitted it to have the opportunity to use it if necessary – suddenly (I will go) to the Olympics or, more likely, to the World Championship,” Vlasov told .
Earlier, Vlasov said his calendar prioritized Grand Tours (Tour de France, Vuelta) over the Olympics.
