Athletistic/ Figure Skating. WADA chief Vitold Banka noted that RUSADA will hold hearings on Kamila Valieva’s positive doping test case in the near future, Inside The Games informs.
WADA’s president said RUSADA recently asked WADA for documents on the case, raising hopes that hearings are close.
Valieva was charged with doping at the Beijing Winter Olympics. It turned out that the Russian woman’s test, which was taken on December 25, was positive. The figure skater allegedly used a banned substance – trimetazidine.
RUSADA has had six months to investigate the case, but the procedure could be extended. In addition, WADA reserves the right to refer the case to CAS.
Recall that at the 2022 Olympics in Beijing, Valieva helped the Russian national figure skating team win gold in team competitions. But because of the doping scandal, the allocation of athletes never took place.
Valieva is also a Russian and European champion.
