The International Skating Union (ISU) has published a document on its official website containing draft changes in the evaluation of skaters’ elements for the 2024/25 season.
The draft specifies that the tanker will be considered a worthless jump. It cannot be performed in a short program, but only once in a free program.
A choreographic rotation in single skating must include a minimum of three revolutions, all basic and non-basic positions are permitted. The leg change is optional and can be done multiple times.
In pairs skating, jump combinations can only include two jumps.
The document also proposes changes regarding choreographic lifts and pair rotations. In particular, the lifting partner should have their arms straight or almost straight at some point during the performance.
The changes will be considered at the ISU Congress, which will be held in Las Vegas June 10-14, 2024.
