Figure skater Sofia Leontieva who performs in ice dancing with Daniil Gorelkin, said that fans often confuse her with Alexandra Stepanova and Victoria Sinitsina.
Leontyeva and Gorelkin are Russian Championship silver medalists. This year, the couple took 5th place at the Russian Championship and became 4th at the Spartakiad of the Strongest.
— You said in an interview that fans confuse you with Sasha Stepanova. How was it ?
— During the Megasport open skate, I went up to the fans to get a gift: a friend wanted to give me flowers there. The performances, I remember, were still going on. We did a rhythm dance during the first warm-up, Sasha and Vanya came out later. And I specifically go to my friend, knowing that all the fans are now in the arena, watching the skating.
A girl runs straight up to me and says, “Please, can I take a picture with you?” I was like, “Yes, of course. » We took a picture and she said, “I’m so glad you’re back.” You’re a really great guy.” I thought, “Oh my God, what a nightmare.” And I just walked away, didn’t say anything in response, just smiled. Well, sometimes they confused. And more than once.
– Who else have you been confused with?
— With Vika Sinitsina. They say I’m something between Sasha and Vika (laughs),” Leontyeva said, as quoted by Sport24.
