Figure skater Egor Petrov’s coach, Elena Sokolova, told that the athlete withdrew from the St. Petersburg tournament due to an intestinal infection, and the duet dance competition for adults was canceled.

Previously, three adult pairs took part in the All-Russian figure skating competition “For the prizes of the St. Petersburg Figure Skating Federation”: Alisa Abdullina and Egor Petrov, Ulyana Ermakova and Artem Krylov, Maria Nekhaeva and Fedor Sanin. They all train in Elena Sokolova’s group. However, when organizers released an updated schedule, it turned out that the adult duet dance competition had been canceled.

— Alisa and Egor withdrew from the tournament because their partner fell ill: he had a serious intestinal infection. We don’t know the reason. Egor resisted for a long time to go to the All-Russian competition in memory of Serebrovsky in Nizhny Novgorod. He went there with all his might, played, and when he returned, he took tests and discovered a surprise in the form of E. coli in his stomach. He has been treated with antibiotics for the second week now. This is why we withdrew the duo from the competition by providing a medical certificate. And somehow it turned out that the rest of the dancers did not need the tournament, ”Sokolova told .

Abdullina and Petrov are silver medalists at the St. Petersburg championship. At the second master’s tournament – the All-Russian competition in memory of Serebrovsky – they debuted sixth.
