The fact is that the Russian swimmer openly supported the invasion of Kremlin troops in Ukraine and attended a military rally at Moscow’s Luzhniki stadium on March 18.

Now the athlete will be able, uninterrupted by competitions and travel abroad, to admire the Putin regime for nine months while sitting in Russia. Rylov’s suspension took effect on April 20, 2022.

Note that the bureau also confirmed its position that Russian and Belarusian athletes and officials will not be invited to any FINA events until the end of 2022.
