Figure skater Georgy Kounitsa in an interview with , he said his former girlfriends did not have the qualities of his current wife Alena Kostornaya.

Marten performs in pairs with Kostornaya. Last season they took ninth place in the Russian Championship. Georgy and Alena got married in August.

— Did you have a relationship before Alena appeared?

– Three girls. The first relationship was very childish, I was about 16 years old, the second was already in St. Petersburg, the third was when I returned to Moscow. Everything was sort of short term, we broke up pretty quickly.

— No, I attended all the training sessions and gave 100%. And everything else is a separate life outside the rink.

– Naturally, there are merchant girls. Guidelines in life are their choice, but not everyone is like that.

Of course, there were stories when I was used too: like going to restaurants at my own expense. But I don’t have a problem with it. Alena is not a bargaining person at all.

“All my old girls didn’t have anything like Alena has.” They didn’t have the incredible care that Alena shows me. They did not have the qualities and talents of my wife,” Kunitsa told .

Kostornaya is the 2020 European single skating champion. The athlete has been pair skating with Kunitz since 2023.
