Three-time Olympic cross-country ski champion Alexander Bolshunov capable of performing at a high level and winning Olympic medals until the age of 40, says Sergei Kryanin, member of the Presidium of the Russian Ski Racing Federation (RFSR).

Earlier, FLGR President Elena Vyalbe said on that Bolshunov plans to participate in the 2030 Olympics. At the 2030 Olympics, Bolshunov will be 33 years old.

– Excellent news, it’s wonderful! I am happy that Sasha Bolshunov has such an attitude. He can easily compete up to 40 years old and collect all the medals at the Olympics. There is an example in cross-country skiing where people became Olympic champions even at 43 years old. Sasha is a great example for young skiers; they will follow such a leader. He is now in his prime and in 2030 he will also be in perfect condition,” Kryanin told .

Currently, Russian skiers are not allowed to participate in international competitions under the auspices of the FIS due to the situation in Ukraine.
