“Mishina and Gallyamov are the main couple of Russia. It’s great to work with them” – Averbukh

Figure skating coach and choreographer Ilya Averbukh spoke about work on the short program of Olympic bronze medalists Anastasia Mishina and Alexander Gallyamov.

Earlier, reported that during the offseason, the couple was practicing a quadruple throw, which is an ultra-if element.

— I came to St. Petersburg at the invitation of Tamara Nikolaevna Moskvina. The process of finding an open appointment was very difficult – she rescheduled our appointment three times. But Tamara Nikolaevna does not back down once she sets herself a task.

For several days we did excellent work. This is the first draft of the program, we will continue to refine it – it is important that everything runs smoothly. The short program is very intense – there is little time to let your imagination run wild. But it seems to me that the production turned out to be dynamic, interesting and bright. I cannot reveal all the secrets, but I can say that Nastya and Sasha worked very convincingly, looking for new material. Their eyes are shining, they are in training. And Tamara Nikolaevna is still there – a fantastic woman, a fantastic coach. Huge respect for her, as well as for Alexei Mishin, when an invitation to work comes from them – there cannot be two opinions.

Working with the best couples in Russia is great. Before that, I collaborated with Natasha Khabibullina and Ilya Knyazhuk, and this is my second experience of collaborating with a sports duo,” Averbukh said, as quoted by Sport24.

Last season, Mishina and Gallyamov won the Spartakiad of the Strongest and the Russian championship. They are also world and European champions, bronze medalists at the 2022 Olympic Games.
