Honored coach of Russia in figure skating Tatiana Michina told that she sees nothing new in the proposed changes to the evaluation of elements in the next season.
On Monday, the International Skating Union (ISU) published a document on its official website containing draft changes in the evaluation of skaters’ elements for the 2024/25 season. Specifically, it specifies that a tanker will be considered a worthless jump, that a singles choreographic pirouette must have a minimum of three turns, and that in pairs, jump combinations can only include two jumps.
— There is nothing new in the changes. Oiler is more relevant for pairs because singles players don’t use it. It’s just not clear exactly what a choreographic rotation should look like, even though it is written that rotations should have at least three revolutions,” Mishina told .
The changes will be considered at the ISU Congress, which will be held in Las Vegas June 10-14, 2024.
