“It’s scary that my partner let me down” – Pulin’s daughter about her reluctance to switch to pairs figure skating

Figure skater Maria Pulina said she sees many benefits in training under her father, a famous figure skater in the past, but she turns down invitations to move to pairs skating and wants to stay in singles.

Pulina is the daughter of famous former figure skater Teimuraz Pulin, a silver medalist at the Junior World Championships with Maria Petrova.

— There are advantages and disadvantages when you are coached by someone close to you. I’m more inclined to believe there are benefits to this. For example, it is easier to negotiate; everything is under control in the family. Sometimes I can’t jump, I feel one reason and my dad feels another. We discover how to understand each other more easily.

Even though my father was a pair skater, I don’t want to get into the sport. Many people offered, but I got used to relying only on myself, on what I could do. It scares me that my partner might let me down,” reports a correspondent, reporting Pulina’s words.

According to the results of the short program of the tournament “For the prizes of the St. Petersburg Figure Skating Federation”, Pulina took fifth place with 64.19 points.
