The final composition of the Ukrainian national hockey team for the 2024 World Championship in Division IB has become known

Coaching staff Ukrainian national hockey team led by Dmitry Khristich decided on the final application for World Cup 2024 V Division IB.

Following the results of the preparatory training camp, defender Vladimir Volkov (HC Modre Kridla Slovan, Slovakia), as well as forwards Mikhail Simchuk (Grand Canyon Univ, USA) and Ilya Korenchuk (GKS Tychy, Poland) left the national team.

In addition, the captain of the national team, Igor Merezhko, will join the team in Vilnius, on the day of its first match at the world championship. In preparation for the 2024 World Cup, Khristich’s team played a number of test matches. The blue-and-yellows first lost to the second team of Latvia (2:3), and then took revenge against them (2:1), after which they beat Lithuania (5:2) and defeated China (9:0).

At the 2024 World Cup, the Ukrainian team starts with a match against Estonia on April 27. Next, the blue-yellows will play with the Netherlands (April 28), China (April 30), Spain (May 1) and Lithuania (May 3). The winner of the tournament will advance to Division IA, the team that finishes last will drop to Division IIA.
