FIBA extended the suspension of Russia and Belarus from international competitions until December 2024

International Basketball Federation (FIBA) extended the suspension once again Russia And Belarus from international competitions. The decision will be valid until the next meeting of the FIBA ​​Central Council in December 2024.

FIBA suspended the teams of the aggressor countries immediately after the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine. The Federation also rejected the Russian Federation’s application to host EuroBasket 2025. Later, FIBA ​​regularly extended this restriction.

The FIBA ​​Executive Committee did not allow the national teams of Russia and Belarus to qualify for the 2024 Olympics and EuroBasket 2025. The disqualification of Russians applies to all competitions under the auspices of FIBA, men’s and women’s, including 3×3 basketball.
