Conte is Napoli’s priority option for next season

Pioli, Gasperini and Italiano are considered as alternatives

Napoli doesn’t give up the idea of inviting Antonio Conte for the position of head coach this coming summer.

Club President Aurelio De Laurentiis, according to the latest information, is ready to offer the 54-year-old specialist a three-year contract worth 6.5 million plus bonuses. Earlier it was reported that Antonio in Napoli will receive an 8 million salary plus control over transfers.

Negotiations with Conte, however, are not progressing easily. There are other candidates on the short list for the former Italian champion: Stefano Pioli (Milan), Giampiero Gasperini (Atalanta) and Vincenzo Italiano (Fiorentina).

Let us remind you that Antonio remains unemployed after his dismissal from Tottenham in March 2023. At the end of January, rumors linked Conte’s future with Milan. It was also reported that the coach hopes to lead Bayern in the new season.

In addition to Spurs, the coach led Arezzo, Bari, Atalanta, Siena, Juventus, Chelsea, Inter and the Italian national team throughout his career (2014 – 2016). Four-time winner of Serie A (with two clubs), winner of the Premier League with Chelsea.

Napoli are in eighth place in Serie A with 49 points. The team is led by Francesco Calzona until the end of the season, who combines this work with the position of head coach of the Slovak national team.

Last year’s champion Italy seriously risks being left without European competition next season. Tomorrow, April 28, Partenopei will host Roma, which is in fifth position.
