Russian swimmer Yegor Kornev fulfilled the Olympic standard in the 100 meter freestyle at the international Swim Wars competition in Banja Luka (Bosnia and Herzegovina).
Kornev won the final heat with a score of 48.04 seconds. Another representative of Russia, Roman Shevlyakov, took second place (50.09), with bronze going to Dutchman Vince van der Pal (51.05).
In the women’s 100 meter freestyle, the entire podium was occupied by the Russians: Daria Klepikova won (54.33), Daria Trofimova (54.55) finished second, Arina Surkova (55.46) finished third.
The competition in Banja Luka will take place on April 27 and 28. For many leaders of the Russian team, this is the first international competition abroad since 2022.
