Razvan Rat: Belgium and Ukraine should leave the group

According to the Romanian, the blue-yellow team contains strong players

Former defender of Shakhtar and the Romanian national team Razvan Rat commented on the Euro 2024where his national team will compete with the Ukrainian national team.

“Ukraine has players from top clubs. When you start to analyze which teams they play in, you realize that we have a very strong national team.”

“The prospects for Romania are good. I’m optimistic. But we need to be realistic, so we need to understand that the group is complex.”

“Ukraine is a good team, nothing needs to be said about Belgium, Slovakia has strong players. Theoretically, Belgium and Ukraine should qualify from our group, but there are chances because all teams start from scratch.”

Rat played for Shakhtar from 2003 to 2013. During this time, he won 17 trophies with the Miners, including the 2009 UEFA Cup.

After leaving Donetsk, the defender played for West Ham, PAOK, Rayo Vallecano and Timisoara. He also has 113 matches and 2 goals for the Romanian national team.

Sergei Rebrov’s team will play in Quartet E with Belgium, Slovakia and Romania at the 2024 European Championship. Ukraine will play its first match against Romania on June 17. Ticket sales for the blue-yellow matches at Euro 2024 are also open.

Ukraine will play at the European Championships for the fourth time. The blue-and-yellows have consistently competed in the finals of the continental championship since 2012.
