The runner also set a new Ukrainian record
Ukrainian track and field athlete Alexander Pogorilko got a license for Olympics 2024 in the 400 meter race.
Alexander became the winner of the Curacao Sprint Fest competition in Willemstad (Curacao). The Ukrainian ran 400 meters with the result 44.94 seconds, ahead of his closest rival Limarvin Bonevasia from the Netherlands by 0.27 seconds. The athlete has fulfilled the required Olympic standard.
Two more Ukrainians took part in the 400 m race. Daniil Danilenko took eighth place with a result of 46.69 s, Nikita Barabanov became 11th, running in 47.63 s.
