About the best personalities and main figures of the tour – here.
INRatar – Andriy Kozhukhar (Carpathians)
A minimal victory in Poltava, together with a sensation at the Left Bank arena, brought the Lviv team an early direct ticket to the UPL. But it was still necessary to withstand the assault attacks of SK Poltava, because on the usual artificial field of the home stadium “Molodezhny” the hosts attacked a lot and scored, strictly speaking, not even one goal – more. Kozhukhar alone saved Karpaty three times after shots from Marusich and Odaryuk, and the goalkeeper was also protected by the crossbar. Andrey played his 15th match without conceding a goal; he has the best goalkeeping performance of the season.
- Best in Elimination Group: Ilya Olkhovoy (Niva, Ternopil)
EtcFirst defender – Alexander Zhmuida (Epicenter)
FSK Mariupol has a good selection of young and fast players, and many of the hosts’ attacks are built through the flanks. That is why attentiveness, reliability and impeccable execution of the coaching instructions were required from Zhmuida and his colleague on the opposite side, Kristin. Playing without his usual partner Lyashenko, feeling the constant pressure of his opponents, Alexander also managed to take part in the only effective attack of this match, assisting Kravchuk.
- Best in Elimination Group: Gleb Savchuk (Podolia)
Tsecentral defender – Yaroslav Martynyuk (Dinaz)
Bukovina is one of those teams that has strengthened during the winter break, but Dinaz has also added some particularly strong players with experience at the highest level to their squad. One of them, center Martynyuk, systematically plays in the center of the Vyshgorod defense. In Chernivtsi, their team with Voloshin completed a huge amount of work, stopping both the leader of the scoring race Palagnyuk and his young teammates Andreychuk and Goncharuk. Without the reliable work of the defense and support zone, this sensational victory would not have happened.
- Best in the Champion Group: Alexander Mizyuk (Carpathians)
Tsecentral defender – Oleg Veremienko (Podolia)
Already in the opening of the match, Veremienko successfully took a corner, opening the scoring after a cross from Gemega. Subsequently, Oleg had to work a lot at his own goal – after all, FC Chernigov was not going to lose and created a lot of chances at the hosts’ goal, especially from set pieces. The only goal conceded was scored by a player who was not under Veremienko’s care, and the 2019 World Youth Champion played reliably in his position.
- Best in the Champion Group: Stepan Grigorashchuk (Epicenter)
Lefirst defender – Alexander Litvinov (Dinaz)
Dinaz’s coaching staff worked a lot on defense, made innovative decisions, and right now the Vyshgorod defensive line with several rebuilt all-rounders is operating more reliably than in the first half of the season. We note Litvinov, who on the left flank acted with the necessary tenacity to slow down such dangerous players as Goncharuk and Budnyak. Alexander also made a successful assist, spinning the ball right at Novikov.
- Best in the Champion Group: Dmitry Ulyanov (Victoria)
Tsecentral midfielder – Vitaly Koltsov (Ingulets)
The leader of the Petrovsky club’s midfield did a huge amount of work and was seen in many attacks, including in the initial phases of effective combinations. Koltsov himself scored Ingulets’ fourth goal (see the “Tour Goal” nomination), and improved his position in the table of top scorers (where he is in the top five with 10 goals). It was expected that Prykarpattya, with its good selection of midfielders, would create problems for the hosts, but Koltsov, doing the grunt work under Pyatov and Sad, simply made it impossible for the opponents to act in any manner.
- Best in Elimination Group: Alexander Tsybulnik (Podolia)
Etcav midfielder – Denis Golub (Niva, Ternopil)
At the first stage, Golub was a deaf reserve of the Left Bank, but he took full advantage of his chance to prove himself in Niva. As part of the Ternopil team, he is not just a starting player, but the engine of the team and one of the brightest and most productive players. In the match with Gornyak-Sport, which has already produced several positive sensations this season, Denis made the game. It was he who fought for the ball, launching the first effective combination with Riznyk’s goal from Doroshenko’s pass. And later he himself assisted Galadei.
- Best in the Champion Group: Vladimir Belotserkovets (Ingulets)
Atcurrent midfielder – Nikolay Vechurko (Kudrovka-Niva)
Kudrovka-Niva at the beginning of the second stage and now are two big differences. Loktionov’s team won the second match in a row in their 5-match unbeaten streak. And the experienced Vechurko, a former midfielder for Chaika, as well as Arsenal Kyiv, the Ukrainian youth team and a number of domestic and foreign clubs, is a key player in his new team. Nikolai scored the winning goal, finishing off Rogozinsky’s serve in an attack that he himself started deep in the field.
- Best in Elimination Group: Arsentiy Doroshenko (Niva, Ternopil)
Lefirst midfielder – Yaroslav Bogunov (Ingulets)
Winger Kozak, the hero of the previous match with Karpaty, missed the reporting round. However, the disqualified teammate was smartly compensated by the new duo Bogunov-Belotserkovets. Both players scored one goal and one assist each. We especially note Bogunov, who has already achieved results for Ingulets for several rounds in a row. In the match against Prykarpattya, he first provided a goal pass to Sitalo, then scored himself with a pass from Artem.
- Best in Elimination Group: Evgeny Ryazantsev (Metalhead)
Onfalling – Igor Neves Alves (Carpathians)
The Carpathians are in constant selective search, in particular it has been repeatedly reported that they want to strengthen the attack. Meanwhile, the Brazilian Igor makes a result for them. In Poltava, he escaped from the tutelage of his opponents several times, which played an unfortunate role for the home team, which on the whole stood up to the leaders. Already in the debut, Igor blocked Podlepenets’ cross, beating the defender and goalkeeper by a split second, and then scored again – but at the beginning of the second half, an offside was declared. Alves Neves impresses with his hard work and integration into team play – in this regard, he fully justifies his invitation and deservedly celebrates his promotion with Karpaty.
- Best in the Champion Group: Andrey Novikov (Dinaz)
Onfalling – Nazariy Nych (Victoria)
The difficult match with Agribusiness could have ended very badly for the hosts, but in the second half they improved significantly and scored the only goal of the match – Victoria had not scored at home for three matches in a row since October. It’s interesting that striker Nych, who also scored against Shakhtar in the UPL against Bessmertny, himself started the scoring combination, earning a free kick deep in the field. And when the ball was transferred from flank to flank, and Ulyanov threw it to Nazariy, Nych brilliantly faked it and shot into the goal from the left. An excellent attack that cut through the entire Volochishchi defense, and individually strong actions by the forward, who scored the first goal for his new team.
- Best in Elimination Group: Bogdan Kobzar (Podolia)
At the start of the second stage, when Loktionov made his debut at the head of the renewed team, Left Bank inflicted a home defeat of 5:1, being in a double numerical majority. Now, when it was extremely important for the people of Kiev to win points in order to keep up with the duo of leaders, the Kudrovsky-Buzov team strictly played to the opponent, showed strong-willed qualities and took revenge at the stadium, where one of the contenders for medals lost only a few times.
Analysis from the All-Ukrainian Association of Football Coaches – Here.
In this round, Kharkov resident Daniil Kaidalov and Ternopil resident Dmitry Galadei scored goals after coming on as substitutes. Kobzar also scored “from the bench”, but at the same time he also earned a penalty and the opponent was sent off for this goal. It took Bogdan only 12 minutes on the field to turn the tide of the match against FC Chernigov.
- Sport Arena statistics: 16 league matches, 2 goals, 1 assist.
The 20-year-old winger was in the deep reserves of the Left Bank, but after moving to Niva he received playing practice and a sense of importance for the team. It was he who gave Galadei an assist for the second goal and began his team’s first effective attack in the match with Gornyak-Sport, which was completed by Riznyk with a pass from Doroshenko.
- Sport Arena statistics: 6 league matches, 1 goal, 2 assists.
This is a tour of working heads, there were especially many of them from the “second floor”. As for aesthetics, we will choose one shot from the middle distance, a springboard in front of the goal. We quote the report: “After Bogunov’s serve, Sitalo lost the aerial battle, but it turned out that the ball bounced straight to Vitaly, who fired into the near corner from outside the penalty area with one touch from his right foot.”
The goal can be seen on video at 4:01
Read later on our website an interview with the player who kept a clean sheet in Poltava, thanks to which his team advanced to the UPL early.
- Sport Arena statistics: 24 matches in the championship, 15 clean sheets, 14 goals conceded.
