Norwegian, four-time Olympic cross-country ski champion Teresa Johaug became the winner of the Grue athletics marathon (Norway).
The 35-year-old athlete achieved a result of 1 hour 11 minutes 25 seconds over a distance of 21.1 km. Johaug was unable to meet the standard for participation in the European Championship (1:10.30).
“Maybe it was too difficult a start.” This probably won’t be my last half marathon, but it added a little extra flavor. I’m happy, but at the same time I know I have something to work on. “It’s something different from skiing,” the Norwegian was quoted as saying by VG.
Johaug announced his retirement after the end of the 2021/22 season. She gave birth to her first child last May. This season, the athlete took part in the Norwegian Championships, where she won the 30 km race.
