Big crash in the first Women’s Tour de France

Dozens of participants in the prestigious cycling race fell 30 kilometers before the end of the next stage.

The next stage of the first Women’s Tour de France will go down in history. The fact is that there is a huge blockage of cyclists here.

The athletes covered 175.6 kilometers from Bar-le-Duc to Saint-Dieu-de-Vosges and moved in a large group. The incident occurred in the last 30 kilometers of the race.

One of the cyclists riding at the front of the peloton lost control and fell. Since the members move in a tight group, this leads to a chain reaction.

Within seconds, dozens of athletes were on the pavement, and their bikes had locked tires. Unfortunately, for some riders, this incident resulted in injury and loss of participation in the competition.

World champion track cyclist Laura Süssmilch was diagnosed with two broken vertebrae, several other riders suffered fractures of her arms and collarbones, as well as head injuries.

Note that a full Women’s Tour de France will be held for the first time in history. The competitions are held under the name – Tour de France Femmes.
