Coach Kirill Aleshin told that after becoming a coach, he began to think about figure skating more often than during his sports career.
Aleshin is a world champion among juniors, winner of international challenges and stages of the Russian Cup with Anastasia Skoptsova. The dance duo announced their retirement in winter 2022, shortly after their performance at the Russian Championships, where they took sixth place. Aleshin now works as a coach in Elena Sokolova’s group with dance duets and in Arthur Gachinsky’s group with singles.

As an athlete, I completed the tasks set by the coach during training and then rested. In my free time, I easily moved on to other areas of my life and remembered only one task for the next workout: to recover, so that I could then give my best. And today figure skating lives in my head almost around the clock. Even at night, until I fall asleep, I think about the endless stream of tasks. The elements, the technical rules… all this needs to be read and understood,” Aleshin told .
