Jaime outweighed Canelo by 0.27 kilograms
Mexicans Saul “Canelo” Alvarez (60-2-2) and Jaime Munguia (43-0) passed the weigh-in procedure before the fight for the title of absolute world champion in super middleweight.
The boxers showed almost the same weight. As a result, Munguia outweighed his opponent quite a bit, by 270 grams, showing a result on the scales of 75.93 kg versus 75.66.
The fight between Canelo and Munguia will take place on May 4. The boxing show will take place in American Las Vegas at the T-Mobile Arena. In April, a special WBC belt was presented that will be at stake in the fight. The trophy was named “The Tamaulipas Belt” in honor of the Mexican state where WBC President Mauricio Sulaiman’s parents are from. The designers who created the belt used the art traditions of this region.
In his last fight, Canelo defeated Jermell Charlo via unanimous decision in October. Munguia defeated John Ryder by TKO in January.
