World champion Tatiana Kocheleva has been appointed head of Vallefogli’s youth sector, according to the Italian volleyball club’s website.
In April, Kosheleva announced her professional retirement. The Russian has been playing for Vallefola since 2021.
“Our goal is to become not only a sports club, but also a pioneer, an example for younger generations. One of my new tasks in Vallefoglia will be to take care of the youth sector. My objective will be to create a work methodology which will aim to develop the personality of young athletes. We want to instill in future volleyball players the true values of sport: discipline, cohesion, involvement, and not just victories, medals and cups. We want to give children the opportunity to grow up, become great players and achieve the most ambitious goals,” Kosheleva said.
— Tatiana was our captain, our leader and spent wonderful seasons in the team. We did not want to lose her and are very happy that she accepted our offer of cooperation. Such a person will become a reference for athletes in the youth sector,” said club president Ivano Angeli.
