The club from Rivne is ready to go to court if a compromise is not found
Veres plans to settle the defender’s transfer Zhirayr Margaryan to Armenian Urartu.
In the spring, the player took advantage of the new FIFA rule and went on loan to Urartu. During the hostilities in Ukraine, Margaryan refuses to return to Veres, although he has a contract until 2025.
The management of Veres is ready to sell the player, but the Armenian club hopes to get the player for free.
“We turned to the Urartu club and the Armenian Football Association with the question – on what grounds does the player now play in the Armenian championship. However, no response has been received.”
“This is a very unfortunate situation. We are not opposed to Giraud playing in Armenia. But we would like to find a compromise that is beneficial to all parties.”
“Let’s hope we can do it. Because I really don’t want to go to the football courts,” Serhiy Koval, adviser to President Veres, commented on the situation.
Earlier, the president of Veres, Ivan Nadein, said that only one foreigner would arrive at the team’s location – Moldavian midfielder Mikhail Gechev.
Veres finished ninth in the Premier League last season, which was brought to an early end due to a full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine. The start of the new championship is scheduled for August 23.
