Cycling coach Tatiana Makarova said the reason she was put on the International Cycling Union (UCI) banned list was an interview and social media post.
Athletes and specialists on this list are not eligible to participate in UCI competitions. Makarova coaches the Tula sprinters; several of its riders had previously received neutral status. From now on, she will no longer be able to accompany them during international competitions.
“As an explanation, the UCI sent me a link to one of my interviews, which they considered to be a violation of the rules for obtaining neutral status. Additionally, they directed me to post on social media. Unfortunately, it is not possible to explain all of this. So I won’t challenge it,” Makarova told .
