“At one performance, Yana Rudkovskaya offered me the role of the Black Swan, and I had no choice but to refuse. Immediately after the first appearance, I realized that it was a success at 200% with the character I can officially say the role of the Black Swan is my favorite,” Kostornaya wrote on her Telegram channel.
Due to injury, Alena Kostornaya missed the Winter All-Russian Spartakiad of the Strongest 2024. She was supposed to perform in tandem with her husband Georgy Kunitsa.
Alena Kostornaya failed to qualify for the Russian national team for the 2022 Olympic Games in Beijing (China). The figure skater broke her arm in December 2021 and was unable to participate in the selection for the 2022 Olympics. Afterwards, she performed again in single skating. She moved to pairs in winter 2023.
