Georgiy could become Mudryk’s teammate, and Shakhtar could receive £65 million for the transfer
Chelsea held negotiations with the midfielder’s representatives Miner Georgy Sudakov. According to British media reports, the Blues were inquiring about the player’s availability for transfer and the estimated amount of his buyout.
It is assumed that the London club will be able to purchase the Ukrainian for 65 million pounds sterling (about 76 million euros). Reportedly, it was after the appearance of Chelsea’s substantive interest that Shakhtar’s general director Sergei Palkin said that in the summer Sudakov would definitely move to a top European club.
The London club is one of many vying for Shakhtar’s leader. Arsenal was previously mentioned in the same breath. So, in March, Georgy himself said that in the winter, Shakhtar received offers from Juventus and Napoli. It was also reported that the midfielder’s entourage is in talks with Manchester City, Liverpool, Barcelona and Bayern.
At the same time, in February, Shakhtar officially extended the contract with Sudakov. The new agreement is valid until December 31, 2028. The clause of the 21-year-old footballer’s contract is 150 million euros.
Sudakov played 33 matches in different tournaments this season, scored nine goals and gave six assists.
Chelsea are seventh in the Premier League, ahead of Manchester United on goal difference. Shakhtar leads the UPL, four points ahead of Dynamo. On May 11, the super match Shakhtar – Dynamo will take place.
