Jake Paul: I love Mike Tyson, but in the ring one of us has to die

The blogger’s fight with Iron Mike is scheduled for July 20

Famous YouTube blogger and boxer Jake Paul (9-1, 6 KOs) said that he is preparing for a fierce fight against the former absolute world heavyweight champion Mike Tyson (50-6, 44 KOs).

“This is war; All’s fair in love and war. I love this guy, but once this escalates into a professional fight, one of us has to die. “He takes it very, very seriously and that’s what will make the fight amazing for all the fans.”

“He’s a killer. I’m moving up to heavyweight, so he’ll have some advantages, but that’s what will make this fight exciting. We both have the power to knockout with one punch. This is what he was destined to do and what he was born to do.”

“And he was the one who wanted it to be a professional fight. We were figuring out the rules and Mike said, “I want this to be a professional fight. I want to finish this guy and stop everything he does.” That’s why I agreed to professional status, the fight will be as real as possible.”

The fight between Jake Paul and Tyson is scheduled to take place on July 20 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, USA. The Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TLDR) will require Mike to undergo specific medical tests in order to be cleared to compete under professional boxing rules.

It was initially reported that the Tyson-Paul event would be held as an exhibition fight. However, the fight itself will take place according to standard boxing rules. Subsequently, Jake expressed a wish for the fight to receive official status.

On June 30, Iron Mike will turn 58 years old. In November 2020, Tyson had an exhibition fight with former world champion in five weight categories, Roy Jones. The match ended in a draw. On the undercard of the event, Jake Paul knocked out Nate Robinson.

Tyson had his last professional fight in 2005. Mike lost by TKO in the sixth round to Irishman Kevin McBride.
