The Australian said he is confident of his triumph over Lomachenko
Australian boxer George Kambosos (21-2, 10 KOs) said that he has the necessary attributes to defeat the former world champion in three weight categories Vasily Lomachenko (17-3, 11 KOs).
“I’m very confident in myself. I brought this confidence from my training. I had a great training camp. My confidence is higher than ever.”
“My victory over Lomachenko will be his retirement. I believed in myself, I have said it before and I will say it on Sunday: “He may not believe in me, but I believe in myself.”
“The speed that I have—he’s never seen that kind of speed and explosiveness. I have the will, the heart, the desire to win this battle. I really want this. I prepared very hard for this fight.”
The fight between Lomachenko and Kambosos will take place on May 12. The vacant IBF lightweight belt will be on the line. The event, which also includes two undercard fights, will take place at the RAC Arena in Perth, Australia, starting at approximately 5 a.m. Kyiv time.
Let us remember that in May 2023, Lomachenko lost to Devin Haney in a fight for the title of absolute world champion. In turn, Kambosos defeated Briton Maxi Hughes in his last fight, winning the IBO lightweight title.
