The club will support Oleg in preparation for the Olympic Games 2024, and the athlete will become a representative of the Miners and an ambassador of the Shakhtar Social Foundation
Miner signed a cooperation agreement with the famous Ukrainian gymnast, Olympic champion Oleg Vernyaev.
The club will provide support to the athlete during international and national competitions, in particular in preparation for the 2024 Olympic Games. In turn, Vernyaev will represent Shakhtar at sports competitions in Ukraine, and will also act as an ambassador for the Shakhtar Social charity foundation.
“Support is always important, and even more so before the main start of any professional athlete. It is an honor to collaborate with a club that I have been a fan of almost all my life. I am sure that our aspirations for victory and the desire to work for results for our home country coincide. And that’s cool. I assure you it will be interesting!” – said Vernyaev.
The Shakhtar Social Foundation, launched by the Donetsk club, works on projects of financial support, as well as humanitarian and medical assistance to Ukrainians affected by the full-scale war with Russia.
Let us remind you that Vernyaev at the recent European Championships in artistic gymnastics became the champion of the continent in the team all-around, and also won an individual silver medal.
Back in October 2023, Oleg, Olympic champion of Rio 2016, won a license for the 2024 Olympic Games as part of the Ukrainian national team.
