The Ukrainian managed to win a strong-willed victory over the Romanian Andreea Mitu
Ukrainian tennis player Katerina Beindl reached the quarterfinals of the tournament ITF W75 in Prague (Czech Republic).
In three sets, the Ukrainian won a strong-willed victory over the Romanian Andreea Mitu. The fight lasted two hours and 40 minutes.
The first set began for Katerina with a failure on her serve and ended in a 4:6 defeat. Then the Ukrainian managed to take revenge with a similar score. Mitu desperately resisted, but in the tenth game her opponent managed to convert a break point on the fourth attempt, and at the same time a set point.
In the decisive game, the Romanian took the first game of someone else’s serve, but then Beindl turned the game around – making the score 4:1, then 5:2. What happened next remained a matter of technique.
Let us remind you that in the first round of the Czech tournament, Katerina dealt with the “neutral” tennis player Marina Melnikova. In the quarter finals she will meet the winner of the duel between Dominik Salkova (Czech Republic, 4) and Jamie Forlis (Australia).
