The Ukrainian duel lasted only 16 minutes
Tournament second round match WTA 1000 V Rome (Italy) between Ukrainian tennis players Angelina Kalinina And Lesya Tsurenko ended ahead of schedule.
After only two games played (both in Angelina’s favor), Tsurenko was unable to continue the match, thanks to which Kalinina advanced to the third round almost without a fight. There she will meet with Greek Maria Sakkari, the fifth racket of the tournament.
Angelina started the event from this stage, while Lesya had to fight a grueling match against Croatian Donna Vekic in the first round (2:1 with a tiebreaker victory).
Earlier this year, Tsurenko had already withdrawn from matches (like against Naomi Osaka in Doha) or entire tournaments (like in Dubai) due to an elbow injury.
Let us remind you that Kalinina, paired with Dayana Yastremskaya, successfully started in doubles at a tournament in the capital of Italy. The Ukrainian duo confidently beat two “neutral” opponents yesterday.
