Levchenko was unable to compete for medals
Ukrainian high jumper Irina Gerashchenko won a silver medal in the third stage Diamond League 2024 V Dohathe capital of Qatar.
The winner was Angelina Topic from Serbia – the only one who achieved the height of 1.94 meters. Gerashchenko stopped at a height of 1.91, ahead of Australian Eleanor Patterson in additional indicators.
Yulia Levchenko also took part in the high jump competition, but she was unable to compete for medals, finishing only in eighth place.
One of the strongest Ukrainian athletes, Yaroslava Maguchikh, missed this stage. She previously confirmed her participation in the seventh stage of the Diamond League, which will be held in Stockholm on June 2 – immediately before the 2024 European Championship in Rome, which begins on June 7.
This medal was the first for Ukraine in the 2024 Diamond League season. Let us remind you that in July last year Gerashchenko won a license for the 2024 Olympic Games, winning the Diamond League stage in Chorzow, Poland.
