President of the All-Russian Swimming Federation (RSF) Vladimir Salnikov told that the organization had not received notification of an open investigation by the independent body responsible for combating negative phenomena in the aquatic domain (Aquatic Integrity Unit) against the Russian swimmers, and also noted that the federation acted in accordance with the rules.
On Friday, the Aquatic Integrity Unit opened an investigation into a possible violation of rules by Russian swimmers during a competition with Bosnian Banja Luka in late April.
“We have not received any notification regarding the opening of an investigation. They acted on the basis of rules, based on the fact that these competitions were not organized under the auspices of World Aquatics,” Salnikov told .
On April 27 and 28, Russian swimmers took part in the Swim Wars competition in Banja Luka. After the end of the competition, publications appeared in foreign media about a possible violation of the rules by Russian swimmers, declared for the region, but at the same time competing with the symbols of Russia displayed on their equipment.
