Shakur will fight next with Artem Harutyunyan on July 6
WBC lightweight champion Shakur Stevenson stated that he wants to meet top opponents after his fight with Arthur Harutyunyan. Among others, the American noted the former world champion in three weight categories Vasily Lomachenko.
“I’m ready for the big stage. When the light gets brighter, I become a better person and shine. I’m ready for anyone – Vasiliy Lomachenko, Gervonta Davis, Ryan Garcia. Now this is a dangerous version of me. Hopefully we get one of these big guys to step into the ring. Give me an opportunity.”
Previously, promoter Bob Arum said that Lomachenko could meet with Shakur in the future. To do this, it is necessary that both fighters win their next fights.
Stevenson will defend his title against Germany’s Artem Harutyunyan on July 6. The fight will take place at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.
Lomachenko will fight George Kambosos on May 12. The event, which also includes two undercard fights, will take place at the RAC Arena in Perth, Australia, starting at approximately 5 a.m. Kyiv time.
