Third medal for the blue-yellows at the tournament in Zadar
Ukrainian men’s kumite team became a bronze medalist European Karate Championship 2024which takes place in Zadar (Croatia).
In the bronze medal match, Ukrainian athletes defeated representatives of Turkey – 3:1. The Ukrainian men’s team won a medal in the team competition at the fourth European Championship in a row (2021 and 2022 – bronze, 2023 – gold).
The Ukrainian national team in the team kumite was represented by Valery Chebotar, Stanislav Goruna, Valery Sonnykh, Rizvan Talibov, Andrey Toroshanko, Konstantin Tsymbal, Andrey Zaplitny.
In addition to the bronze award, Ukraine also received a direct license to the first World Team Karate Championship 2024, which will be held in Pamplona on November 22-24.
This is the third medal of the Ukrainian team at the European Championships in Zadar. Yesterday Chebotar and Elina Selemeneva became bronze medalists. The blue-yellows took 17th place in the Euro medal standings.
