Mike considers Tyson Fury the favorite in the fight with Oleksandr Usyk
Legendary former absolute world champion Mike Tyson believes that WBC belt holder Tyson Fury will defeat the WBO/WBA/IBF/IBO world heavyweight champion next Saturday in a fight for the undisputed world heavyweight title Alexandra Usik.
“I’m looking forward to this fight. [Фьюри против Усика]. This will be an interesting fight. I’m picking Tyson Fury because I think he’ll just beat him. I think he’s the best fighter in the world, especially at heavyweight. Great fighters lose, great fighters look bad, but that doesn’t stop them from being great fighters.”
“We shouldn’t focus on what Fury did against Ngannou. You have to understand that he is still a champion. He made that night great. He gave Francis Ngannou an opportunity and it was just a bad night at the office for him. But let me remind you that they happen to all of us.”
The unification fight between Usik and Fury will take place on May 18. The list of other fights that will take place as part of the boxing evening in Saudi Arabia is also known. Among them is the fight between Ukrainian Daniel Lapin and Portuguese Octavio Pudivitra for the WBA Continental light heavyweight title.
The event will be hosted by Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Penalties for boxers who refuse to fight are $10 million.
