Team Head Coach Russia in synchronized swimming Tatiana Pokrovskaya appreciated the motto of the Paris Summer Olympics “open to all” and admitted that the team is concerned about the possibility of participating in these Olympics.
The International Olympic Committee (IOC) and the Organizing Committee of the Games presented on July 25 the official motto of the 2024 Olympic Games – “Open the Games wide”.
– Tremendous. It’s a good idea. Of course, we are worried about our participation in the Olympics, Pokrovskaya told reporters, assessing the motto of the 2024 Games.
– We are very hurt and offended – why did Russian sports fall under distribution, talented people here and in Belarus? Why should they be responsible for everything that happens in this world? We are strong, we will preserve all spiritual and cultural values,” said Olga Pavlova, vice-president of the Russian Synchronized Swimming Federation. – Without Russia, without the Pokrovskaya team, synchronized swimming will probably develop, but will it be so progressive and innovative or will it be a cabal: – you – mine, I – you.
The Russians, by decision of the International Swimming Federation (FINA), are suspended from competitions of departures under the auspices of this organization until the end of 2022 on the background of the situation with Ukraine.
