Chelsea beat Brighton away, Mudryk was replaced due to injury

The Ukrainian winger has a suspected concussion

Chelsea confidently beat on the road Brighton in the rescheduled match of the 34th round and reached sixth place in English Premier League – 2:1.

The visitors opened the scoring in the 34th minute. Mikhail Mudrik, who came into the starting lineup, took part in the scoring attack, which was completed with a precise header by Cole Palmer.

Shortly after this, the Ukrainian collided very hard with Tariq Lamptey and remained lying on the turf for some time. He then made way for Christopher Nkunku. Presumably, Mikhail could have suffered a concussion.

Overall, the Blues controlled the game, but the Seagulls missed at least one good chance to level the score – Pascal Gross missed the target from close range. Soon Mauricio Pochettino’s team increased the score. The goal turned out to be French: Nkunku finished off Malo Gusteau’s cross.

The Blues finished the game with ten men: in the end Reece James was sent off for rudeness against Joao Pedro. Simon Adingra could have made the score worse in stoppage time, but hit the post. But Danny Welbeck managed to do it, blocking Pedro’s cross from close range. The hosts launched an attack, but the Londoners fought back.

Having won their fourth victory in a row, Chelsea moved into sixth place before the last round. In the final match of the season, the Londoners will host Bournemouth on May 19. Brighton remained tenth and will finish the championship with a home match against Manchester United.
