Athletistic / Figure skating. Australian figure skater Brendan Kerry and his lawyers are preparing an appeal against the decision of the US Center for Safe Sports, which banned him for life from tournaments in the United States. Kerry had previously been convicted of soliciting minors.
“I received a sanction decision without any prior warning and for violations that I did not commit. This decision is not final, and I intend to challenge it by requesting arbitration. – Kerry reportedly told Reuters.
Previously, media reports claimed that Kerry, while intoxicated, had sexual contact with underage skaters. One of them was an American bronze medalist at the 2014 Olympics (her name was withheld in the interest of the investigation). She was the one who told reporters what had happened. Please note that Kerry’s punishment does not apply to tournaments outside the United States.
Brendan Kerry is 29 years old and has competed in three Olympic Games. At the World Championships, his best result was a 15th place, posted in 2017.
