Athletistic / Ski racing. President of the Russian Ski Racing Federation Elena Vyalbe spoke about the participation of Russian skiers in the upcoming Olympic Games.
Vyalbe said that Russians would participate in the Olympics only on the condition that there was a flag and an anthem. She also could not accurately answer whether national athletes will participate in the upcoming Winter Games in Italy. She justified this with inconstancy and politics.
“We cannot yet say with certainty that we will not go to the Olympic Games in Cortina d’Ampezzo. We cannot say that, because everything can change overnight, all this politics and nonsense that exists now. The team can definitely do it only go there if there is a flag and an anthem, you don’t even need to think about everything else,” Vyalbe said.
The next Winter Olympic Games will take place in 2026 in Milan and Cortina d’Ampezzo, Italy. The date is February 6 to February 22.
