Russian Paralympic athlete Albert Khinchagov won a silver medal in the shot put at the World Athletics Championships in Kobe, Japan.
Khinchagov, competing in the F37 class (athletes with cerebral palsy and other injuries of the musculoskeletal system), showed a result of 15.51 meters. Gold was won by the representative of Uzbekistan Kudratillokhon Marufkhujaev (15.68), the top 3 was completed by Tunisian Ahmed Moslah (15.34).
In addition, Russian Victoria Slanova became the silver medalist in the 400 meters in the T37 class (hemiplegic athletes) with a result of 1 minute 5.48 seconds. China’s Jiang Fenfeng finished first (1:02.48) and South Africa’s Liesel Goes was third (1:08.23).
The World Championship will end on May 25, and Russian athletes will participate in the competition in neutral status.
