Figure skater Alisa Ovsyankina spoke about the difficulties she faced after changing her sports citizenship and moving to France.
Earlier, coach Marien de la Asuncion told that Ovsyankina will play for France starting next season. She teams up with Frenchman Maximilian Rayet.
— Have you managed to adapt to life in France this year? What difficulties did you encounter?
—At first there was a slight state of loss, because everything was so new, unusual, different. But over time, when you understand how people live here, what their lives are like, how everything works for them, you get into that rhythm and you just adapt. Of course, there are some differences, but over time everything has stabilized.
It all comes down to language. For me, the main difficulty was that at first it was difficult for me to speak English – it took me a month to be able to fully express my thoughts in it. But then, after English, I began to calmly understand French, and the training smoothly transitioned to French. But in general, we use all languages, including sometimes Russian (laughs),” Ovsyankina told “Championship”.
