Anatoly did not make it into the main roster for only the second time in 8 months
Ukrainian goalkeeper Benfica Anatoly Trubin remained in reserve for the away match of the 34th (final) round of the Portuguese Primeira Liga against Rio Ave.
The 22-year-old Ukrainian was the undisputed main player of the Lisbon club throughout the season – 48 matches (17 of them to zero), 47 goals conceded. Since mid-September, Anatoly gives way to the Portuguese Samuel Soares for only the second time.
Let us remind you that Trubin was included in Sergei Rebrov’s list of 26 players who will participate in the preparatory training camp for the 2024 European Championship as part of the Ukrainian national team.
Roger Schmidt’s team finishes the season in second place in the Primeira Liga, having lost the championship race to fellow countrymen from Sporting. Benfica will begin the next European Cup season in Champions League qualification.
The match between Rio Ave (11th place) and Benfica will start at 22:45 Kyiv time.
