The Ukrainian became the mandatory contender for the fight with Jaron Ennis
Ukrainian boxer Karen Chukhadzhyan (24-2, 13 KOs) defeated the British Harry Scarffa (13-3, 3 KOs) and became a mandatory challenger for the IBF world welterweight title.
The fight lasted all 12 rounds. Throughout the fight, the Ukrainian acted more accurately, gradually gaining an advantage. According to the results of the fight, all three judges recorded Karen’s victory – three times 116:112.
Chukhadzhyan became a contender for the belt owned by Jaron Ennis. Let us recall that in January 2023, Karen lost the fight for the title of interim IBF champion to an American, but at the same time managed to hold out the entire distance against a formidable knockout, which few people had previously succeeded in doing.
The fight with Scarff took place in Hamburg. The event was originally scheduled for May 4 in Leverkusen. However, Wasserman Boxing, which represented Scarff, did not fulfill its obligations to organize the fight as specified in the fight contract, and the fight was rescheduled to another date and location.
