Olympic medalist swimmer Kliment Kolesnikov told how he spends his free time after training.
On Saturday, in the conference room of the Gazprom pavilion, Kolesnikov spoke with young swimmers and their coaches from Saransk. He spoke about the sports and personal development opportunities promoted by the Gazprom program for children.
— I have two radically opposed personalities when it comes to rest. I can kill myself on weekends, play football, basketball with friends, spend active free time. But I can also spend this time passively. Because the training is hard, you want to relax, distract yourself from everything: lie on the bed, watch TV shows, look for the most unnecessary things, play on the computer. Previously, it took a long time to get up, go to training, then to school, etc. As an adult, I have more time, so I have the opportunity to rest passively – to compensate for what I didn’t have as such. a child.
I have free time. But during the work week, I try more to recover after training and relax. On Saturday and Sunday it’s time to take a walk, meet friends, sit in a cafe or play board games at home. We spend little time. A lot of times all the guys train in different places. I can’t call basketball a hobby. I just like to play it periodically. As a child, I collected Lego, it was my hobby. But now that you look at how much this building set costs, it’s better to sculpt it out of sand.
I have a good attitude towards things that involve fine motor skills: putting together puzzles, solving a Rubik’s cube, beads. “I like it,” reports the correspondent, according to Kolesnikov’s words.
