Women’s And Ukrainian men’s volleyball team successfully started in the drawing Euroleague Golden 2024.
Ukrainian women in strong-willed style won over Slovenia – 3:2. The rivals managed to snatch victories in the first and third sets, but in the even-numbered games the Ukrainian team took confident revenge. The tiebreaker also remained in favor of Ukraine.
The men’s national team supported the initiative of their compatriots and beat Romania, and also losing the first set. The opponents resisted desperately, and the next two games were snatched away by the Ukrainians in an equal fight. The confrontation was crowned by the confident triumph of the blue-yellows in the fourth set.
Let us remind you that the Ukrainian women’s team is defending the title it won last year. In the final of the Golden Euroleague 2023, the Ukrainians beat Sweden (3:0). The finalists of the competition will advance to the 2024 Candidates’ Cup for the right to play in the Nations League. The last team in the table will be relegated to the Silver Euroleague. The Final Four will take place on June 15-16 in the Czech Republic.
As for the men’s team, it played its first official match under the leadership of a new coach, Raul Lozano, and without a number of key players.
