Men defeated Azerbaijan, women easily dealt with Estonia
Men’s And Ukrainian women’s volleyball team won their second matches Euroleague Golden 2024.
The men beat Azerbaijan on the road – 3:0. The Ukrainians won two sets with a nine-point advantage; in the third, a minimal advantage was enough – 25:23.
The women’s team defeated Estonia – 3:0. The Ukrainians dominated every set, never allowing their opponents to score more than 14 points.
Let us remind you that in the first round, the Ukrainian men’s team beat Romania (3:1), and the women’s team won a strong-willed victory over Slovenia (3:2).
Let us remind you that the Ukrainian women’s team is defending the title it won last year. In the final of the Golden Euroleague 2023, the Ukrainians beat Sweden (3:0). The finalists of the competition will advance to the 2024 Candidates’ Cup for the right to play in the Nations League. The last team in the table will be relegated to the Silver Euroleague. The Final Four will take place on June 15-16 in the Czech Republic.
As for the men’s team, it played its second official match under the leadership of a new coach, Raul Lozano, and without a number of key players. Let us remind you that several players refused to come to the national team for various reasons, and in addition to this, blocker Vladislav Shchurov was injured.
